About Us

CPS is the for-profit research and consulting subsidiary of the Maryland Hospital Association. Formed in 1997, its goal is to globalize performance improvement and evaluation methodologies developed by its researchers and tested in the U.S., Europe, and Asia since 1992. Chief among the CPS products is the International Quality Indicator Project (IQIP) which in the past decade has served as an incubator for other health care performance measurement programs and services in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Through its other strategy-based products and services, CPS has a recognized pedigree in developing and supporting quality measurement, patient safety, and pay-for-performance solutions.

       We distinguish ourselves from our competitors in the health care performance measurement software arena in that our ultimate goal is to empower health care organizations to understand and improve their performance; the software systems we develop and support are just the principal means to achieve that goal. We bundle education, training, and support into the state-of-the-art solutions we create. Our research and publications are focused on helping organizations use data effectively, and we have a history of working closely with our software users to ensure our performance measurement programs meet their needs.

CPS' unique qualifications include:

• A commitment to customer/member service, stemming from our status as part of a health care association
